Hello

With Sympathy. . .

for the passing of a friend's father.

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe that it is well into August already!  Where has the summer gone?  I hope that you are all having a wonderful summer.  The weather here has been great.  We have had many wonderful weekends at the beach, or the shore, as we call it here.  I love to walk along the shore and collect sea glass.  I will share some photos of these precious gems in a post later this week.

Today I am sharing a masculine sympathy card that I made for a co-worker who lost his father.  The paper is all from DCWV stacks.  I cut the shapes with my spellbinders and stamped them with K. Andrews Sympathetic Sayings stamps.  I thought this sentiment was perfect for this card.  The ink is Stampin' up Basic Gray.  The ribbon is from my stash and the brads were applied with my Imaginisce heat tool.  I always forget about this nifty little tool - it really works well!

Thanks so much for taking time to look.  Have a great day!

Damask Birthday!

Custom Charm with Cricut and Shrinky Dinks!
 Matching Envelope

Sweet Sentiment for a Special Day.

Hi Everyone!

So glad to finally get back here and post this for you.  These past few weeks have been crazy busy.  I haven't had the energy to create or blog at night.  I have had just enough energy to enjoy some of my favorite blogs and leave comments on wonderfully inspiring projects.  So thanks to all of your for your lovely inspiration!

Today I am sharing a card that I made for my SIL.  I wanted a charm to add to the card and just couldn't find the right thing.  So I decided to make a charm with my Cricut and some ink jet Shrinky Dinks.  It really could not have been easier.  I cut the image at about 3" - it shrunk to about 1" after using the heat tool.  (Make sure to punch a hole in it for the ribbon before you use the heat tool.)  Then I applied two coats of Glossy Accents (one of my absolute favorite products).    The card and envelope I made with the Cameo using images from the Silhouette Online Store.  I also used some Michaels ribbon and diamond bling for some sparkle.  The back of the envelope and inside of the card are decorated with hand doodling using a pink metallic Gelly Roll pen and a wonderful wood stamp from Hero Arts.  The sentiment on the front is a studio g stamp and Stampendous Blushing Pink embossing powder.

If you like what you see please leave me a comment.  It means a lot.  Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Happy Father's Day Grandpa!

Grandpa Loves The Red Sox!

Inside
Hi Everyone!

Hope you are having a terrific day!  My dad just loves the Red Sox.  So, for Father's day I made him this card.

I downloaded the picture from the internet and edited it in my Silhouette DE software.  I inked up the edges with Basic Grey Stampin' up ink, added some glossy accents (love this stuff), ribbon from M's, and popped the top layer with Scotch foam tape.  It's difficult to see the glossy accents in the picture.  It looks great in person and adds a lot of dimension.

Have a great week!

Little Miss Sunshine!

Oh Happy Day!

Someone I know is 5 today!

Hi Everyone!
I hope your week is going great!  It's hard to believe that it is almost Friday already.  Where did the week go?

Today I am sharing a little card that I made for my great niece's 5th birthday.  Little Miss Sunshine is such an uplifting little character, just like my niece.  I print and cut most of the shapes, including the background paper, using my Silhouette Cameo.  I added Glossy Accents to her pigtails, glitter here and there and some black lines for motion on the birds, inked up the edges with pink ink and an action wobble for some added fun - and there you have it.  I sure hope she likes her card!

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the week.  If you like what you see, please leave a little comment.  It sure makes my day!

Star Trek Birthday Card!

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you had a super week!  Today I am sharing a birthday card that I made for my brother.  He loves all things science fiction, Star Trek, Star Wars - you name it.  This card is pretty simple to make.  I found this terrific picture of the Starship Enterprise on Google images. I imported it into my Silhouette software and added the text.  Next, I printed it twice and fussy cut out one starship.  I embellished it with Glossy Accents on the light and the top.  Then I adhered it with pop dots for dimension.  I mounted the picture on a dark gray card.

I am really pleased with out it came out.  It really looks like the starship is floating through space toward you.  It would look great in a frame on his desk.  I sure hope he enjoys it!

I also got a new light tent today.  I am really excited about this and look forward to improving my blog pictures.  I think this one turned out pretty good in the new tent! LOL!!

If you like what you see, please leave me a little comment - it always makes my day.  Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific weekend!

Teacher Appreciation!

Thank you teacher!!

Hi Everyone!

It's hard to believe that the end of the school year is here!  It seems like just yesterday when we packed all the new supplies in the world's largest backpack and headed off for the first day of school.

I made several different cards for the teachers.  This one I made for my son's teacher - who he just loves!   I CASED it from Emma at My Creative Time.  I didn't have the Cricut cartridge that she used.  So I used a shape I found on the Silhouette store and cut it with the Cameo.  I colored the stamped image (MCT - All Around Everything) with Copics.  I had fun picking out different papers to make this with.  It looks so cute in person.  I need to work on my photography a little more . . .  I am thinking of getting some type of light box.  It's all fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hope you all have a terrific week!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi Everyone!
I am a little late with this post.  I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's day with your families!
This is the card that I made my mother for Mother's day.  I am really happy with the way it turned out.  My mother loves flowers and gardening so I really wanted to make something that reflected her personality.
This is my first attempt at making paper flowers.  I've put off making them for so long because I thought that it would be difficult.  It could not have been easier.  The trick is winding the paper strips around something tightly (I used my craft tweezers) and then using strong glue to keep them from unraveling (glossy accents).  I glued them all together and let them dry overnight before I assembled the card.   One fell on the ground and my dog tried to eat it!  It was so funny - thankfully the flower was unharmed and found its way onto the card.  This was so much fun, I see many more flower projects in the future!
It's been a little while since I posted.  I have some new projects to post soon.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Greek Easter

Χριστός ανέστη!

καλό Πάσχα!

Hi Everyone!

Today is Greek Easter. Here is a special card I made with a red egg. The Greeks play a game with the red eggs by tapping them together and saying Χριστός ανέστη! Christ has risen!

Have a great day!

Easter Butterfly

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are having a terrific week! It is spring break for us here so we are on a little family vacation to see D.C. I am posting from my iPad - I hope this works.

Today I am sharing another Easter card. I used this beautiful paper as my focal point and my Spellbinders to create a base for the sentiment. The sentiment stamp is from Mypinkstamper. Some light and airy ribbon, a few rhinestones on the butterfly and there you go.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

With Sympathy

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you are enjoying your weekend.  I've been really busy with work lately, but I wanted to take a moment to share this card with you.  This is a sympathy card that I made for a close family friend who recently lost her husband.  I hope she finds some comfort in knowing that we are all thinking of her.

The card base is made from kraft card stock, I then layered it with this beautiful paper from DCWV Garden Party Stack, and the lace border was made with my EK Success border bunch.  The ribbon is from Michaels.  I added two sweet Prima flowers and dressed them up with an antique brad from Stampin-up.  I stamped the K. Andrews sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink from Stampin-up.  I also used two other sentiments from this K. Andrews sympathy set on the inside.  I made the envelope using my Martha Stewart score board,  This is the first time I made an envelope with the corner tool.  It was easier than I expected.  I will definitely use this more often!  The dimensions are slightly larger so there is plenty of room for a card with some dimension.  I also lined the envelope with some pretty paper from the K&Co Designer paper stack to make it a little more special.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hi Everyone!!

How are you?!  It has been such a long time since I've posted on my poor neglected blog.  I've missed all of you my bloggy friends!

So much has happened, busy with family, busy with work and a new craft room thanks to my wonderful hubby!   I have a few decorating touches to finish off my little space and then I may post some photos.  I am all moved in to my new space and have begun working on some new projects . . .  at long last.

Today I have a St. Patrick's Day card to share with you.  I started with a DCWV pale green card base and added some lovely paper from the DCWV Mango Frost cardstock stack and Bazzill basics.   The shapes are from Cricut Caftroom basics and Celebrate with Flourish lite cart.  I used my Fiskers corner punch on the card base and added a little bling with Stickles Patina and Firefly.  I hope you enjoy!

I am also entering this card at Cricut Cardz Challenge #104.  Check out all the terrific projects posted here, there is a lot of inspiration!

Have a great St. Paddy's day!
